Our friend Anita met us at the airport. She just finished her 6 month study at a fashion design school in Finland and was going to be travelling through Europe before heading home to Vancouver. She was going to tag along with us for the weekend.
We headed for Belgium to go to Zolder Race Track near Hasselt not far from Antwerp. There we met our friend, David Atkins, & his race team. We got to go down to the pit lane for the open practice! It was so much fun – the trucks go so fast! I even got to meet the driver Chris Levett. His grandfather owns Bird’s Transport, a sponsor of the team.
Martini & Kristi had brought 4 Lou Malnati’s pizzas from Chicago for dinner. What a treat! The guys really liked them. After dinner, I was feeling a little jetlagged so I turned in early since we were staying in the race trailers with the team. I wanted to be fresh for the next day. Kristi, Martini, & Anita stayed up & hung out with the race team.
